Many Canadian communities remain inaccessible today

191 isolated communities

​Without connecting roads or ferry service, air travel is currently the only way to reach 191 Canadian communities from other population centers

$4,000+ per household spent

In 2019, average annual air travel costs for families living in Iqaluit were 3x higher than those living in major Canadian cities -  up to $4,292 a year

$174M Remote Air Service Programs

In 2020, the Canadian government allocated funding to protect essential air access to remote communities through bilateral agreements with provinces and territories

$86M Québec air travel subsidy

To reduce the cost of air travel to certain rural regions, the Québec government implemented a multi-million Regional Air Access Program over the course of 2 years
